MeenVallam waterfalls

Meenvallam is a very beautiful natural place, located in Palakkad district of Kerala. Nearest bus stop is 'Kalladikode' (tb) . Kalladicode is about 15km away from palakkad town on the way to Mannarkkad.  Meenvallam is about 6 km away from 'Kalladicode'. Anyone can get Mannarkkad/kozhikode bus from palakkad and get down at kalladicode(tb) bus stop. Buses are very rare from Kalladicode to Meenvallam. So we may need to go by Jeep or taxi from  Kalladi code bus stop. More than 7 water falls are there in Meenvallam, but unfortunately we could visit only one because of repair work ongoing. We walked about 1 or2 km after taken the entry ticket from Meenvallam starting point.  There is a clear route upto the first waterfall. It heard that routes are not good after first waterfall.

The best time to visit Meenvallam is just after rainy season. The entry will not allow after 4'O clock.

We returned to Kalladicode at 5'O clock after have a strong tea from Meenvallam. We walked about 6km to reach Kalladicode bus stop. Return journey was a some nice experience of walking through cool natural place.

  2. Pictures are very beautiful. Thanks for sharing. This quiet town is the capital of Palakkad District — Kerala’s rice bowl and the gateway between Kerala and Tamil Nadu. A natural depression in the Western Ghats — the famous Palghat Gap — makes Palakkad perennially windy. Like a town that would rather be a village, it makes way for chariots during festivals and beams gloriously when the sunlight falls on its golden paddy fields. Check out all best hotels in Palakkad also.

  7. Hi
Meenvallam Waterfalls, a hidden gem in Palakkad district, cascades from as high as 45 metres into Thuppanadu River which originates from the Kalladikodan Hills. Thuppanadu River later joins with the Thoothapuzha, which in turn empties into Bharathapuzha River. Located 8 km deep inside the forests from Thuppanad Junction on the Palakkad-Manarkkad Route in NH 213, the waterfalls are catching the attention of a lot of our visitors.

  9. Are you travelling to Palakkad? Palakkad is a wonderful city in Kerala which is close to many other tourist destinations. If you are coming to visit Kerala, you should definitely stay at least for a couple of days in Palakkad. There are many hotels that are offering budget hotel rooms in Palakkad town but the best is provided by ATS Grand Kera. Choose a room within your budget hotels in palakkad. The hotel has a wonderful restaurant where different cuisines of food are available. Best authentic Kerala Malabar style foods in both vegetarian and non-vegetarian is a speciality of the hotel.
